CSA has an exciting opportunity for a Consulting Engineer to join our Cloud practice in Newcastle. The Consulting Engineer will lead small engagements and work with other engineers to deliver more complex solutions for the adoption of cloud services and automation technologies.

Solution Offerings

The ideal applicant will have a broad capability with specialised experience dealing with the deployment, integration, migration and operation of software solutions in the cloud. They will be prepared to consult with customers and deliver solutions in the following areas:

  • Infrastructure (IaaS) and platform (PaaS) as a service solutions, databases, containers and serverless computing
  • Cloud & hybrid identity and single signon integration with SaaS providers and in multi cloud architecture
  • Automation scripting, testing automation, DevOps and infrastructure as code practices and tooling
  • Business and service continuity including high availability, disaster recovery and backup
  • Application focussed cloud transition frameworks and practices
  • Secure cloud network integration, segmentation and automation
  • Security management practices for cloud operating architectures

Technical Experience

A detailed working knowledge of a number of the following technologies is preferred with consideration for similar transferable experience:

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Office365 or Google G-Suite
  • Ansible, Puppet, Chef or similar

Capability

The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 4 years in a similar function, working with clients across various industry verticals, at least 8 years industry experience and will demonstrate:

  • A predominantly self sufficient work-ethic, be driven and capable of learning new technologies in their field
  • Proactive knowledge sharing, mentoring and champion continual improvement across the consulting practice
  • Ability to consult, in a pre and post-sales capacity, with clients with strong attention to detail
  • Experience designing solution (architecture, bill of materials, work statements, migration/risk/test plans)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead small engagements, work in a team, deliver quality outcomes and align with best practice
  • Personal interest and ability to learn new and emerging technologies and solutions
  • Strong technical capability and background experience deploying relevant solutions and toolsets

Desirable Qualifications

  • A relevant University degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant vendor certifications e.g. Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, AWS CSA/CDE, RHCA, VCP-CMA
  • Relevant industry certifications e.g. ITIL , COBIT, TOGAF, PRINCE2, Agile, CCSK/CCSP, DOF/DOL/DSOE/CDA/DTE.
